Karima Skalli and "Al-Ayadi Al-Waaida" Association Bring to Life Past-time Nights in a Charity Event in Oman

Oman: Karima Skalli gave a charity concert entitled "Rajaat Ayam Zaman" (Old Days return) with the Jordanian artist Dr Ayman Taysir in the Culture Palace, Al Hussein Sports City.

The event was organized by the Association of Al-Ayadi Al-Waaida" and sponsored by its president Her Royal Highness Princess Alia Tabbaa; where Karima Skalli and Ayman Taysir recalled the oldies by Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Mohamed El Qasabgi, Kamel al Teweel, Mohamed Fawzi, Farid El-Atrache, Baligh Hamdi and Rahbani brothers, accompained by the Arab Music House Orchestra led by Maestro Haithem Sukkrieh.

Under the applause of the audience, Karima Skalli lit the stage and performed "Imta Hatiiraf" (When will you know), composed by Mohamed El Qasabgi, written by Maamoun Shinawi. Added to this, songs such as "Ashar wa Inshighil Ana", "Amal Hayati" and others had a great implact on the audience.

Karima Skalli duetted with Ayman Taysir on the song "Shahat Al- Gharam", composed by Mohamed Fawzi, written by Badii Khairi and on "Ma Ahla Al Habbib" composed by Mohamed Abdel Wahab and written by Ahmed Rami.

The director of the Association, Azemi Shahin said that the concert aims at providing education for poor brilliant students; which is the gist of the works that the Association carry. The numbers of the students whom the Association provided help are 470 student of both sexes, 75 of whom are now undergraduates. Thanks to this event, the Association intends to educate 10 to 12 student.

The diva Karima Skalli expressed her happiness, pointing out that this evening is noble and glamorous, for it supports a noble humane intention which is to help university students, and also for it is a participation in the development of music culture; which stresses the role, the responsibility and the value of art and artists in such a participation.

Coming from a country of diversity and cultural and artistic richness, Karima Skalli needn't be introduced to an audience that have known her in 1999, when she performed at Cairo Opera on Arab Music Festival and Conference; Famous for her interpretation of Ismahan songs, to the extent that many Arab critics think of her as "Morocco's Ismahan".

Karima Skalli is famous for performing songs of Arab heritage, and also her inspiration by old verses and modern music, moving from Tarab to Sufi and Andalusian singing in a very fine manner.
Karima Skalli participated on many occasions in Jordan and in many other festivals all over the world such as in Beiteddine, Damascus, Cairo Opera, Europe, and America.
