The Moroccan Diva, Karima Skalli participated in the Operetta performed at the opening ceremony of Fez World Festival of Sacred Music (Festival de Fes des Musiques Sacrées du Monde), shoulder to shoulder with more than forty artists representing different cultures from all over the world.
Thanks to her beautiful and melodious voice, Karima Skalli succeeded in her performance of Omar Al-Khayam verses which received applauses from the large audience who were present tat Bab El-Makina for the opening ceremony of the 18th edition of the festival.
In an interview with "Al Maghribia", Karima Skalli said: "Yes, I am Moroccan and I am bearing the Moroccan culture on my shoulder. My participation in the opening ceremony of Fez Festival is an honor, especially that the Festival made sharing the Moroccan culture with the cultures of the world possible. In this context, I have had many experiences inside and outside Morocco. I represented Morocco and its culture on numerous occasions in many countries such as Lebanon and Egypt, and in other European countries and in America also; and here I am seizing the chance to represent Morocco and its culture in Fes Festival. In fact, I have accepted the invitation with no hesitation for Fes is the cultural capital of Morocco. I am proud of sharing our Moroccan culture heritage with others."
